I work on developing analytical theories describing the accretion process onto black holes.  My recent work focuses on the problem of accretion within the "ISCO" of black holes, and I wrote my PhD thesis on relativistic accretion in the time-dependent regime. Observational probes of these theories include tidal disruption events and black hole X-ray binaries. From September 2025 I will be a 5-year Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, having completed my PhD and a Leverhulme-Peierls Fellowship at the University of Oxford in the UK.
