I am currently finishing my PhD in Physics at Washington University in St. Louis. Once I graduate, I will begin a post doc position at the Institute for Planetary Sciences and Astrophysics in Grenoble. Broadly speaking, I am interested in the plasma physical processes that produce coherent emission with a particular interest in Fast Radio Bursts. Utilizing a variety of computational frameworks I have studied the non-linear evolution of low frequency plasma waves in the extremely magnetized environment of a magnetar magnetosphere. Using Particle-in-Cell simulations, I have recently studied how fast magnetosonic waves, one of the two low frequency modes admitted in these environments, can steepen into what may be the strongest shocks in the universe. I aim to make observable predictions of Fast Radio Bursts that may be produced by such shocks. I am excited to study extreme plasma physics within the SCEECS collaboration.
