Karol Fulat

Postdoctoral Fellow

I am currently a PhD student at the University of Potsdam, Germany, and I will be soon joining the group of Prof. Ellen Zweibel in Madison as a postdoctoral researcher. My main interests revolve around investigating fundametal processes at the origin of the observed radiative and particle spectra from various astrophysical sources. As a member of SCEECS, I aim to use fully kinetic plasma simulations to explore the microphysics of particle acceleration, turbulence, and instability driving in extreme plasma environments. I have a particular interest in understanding  the interaction between  relativistic shocks and turbulence, with potential applications to active galactic nuclei, gamma-ray bursts, and pulsar wind nebulae.
