Ph.D. Student

I'm currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford with Alex Schekochihin. My work has mainly focused on collisionless plasmas, their turbulence, and how this drives them to non-Maxwellian equilibria. In addition to this I've had forays into related topics including the transport of cosmic rays in the ICM and the formation of unstable plasmas due to synchrotron radiation around strongly magnetised objects. I'm especially interested in how collisionless systems behave in, and backreact on, turbulent environments and the possible links this has to thermodyanmics and non-thermal particle acceleration.
