Affiliated Scientist
Roberto Serrano is a 1st year Master student at Illinois State University. He obtained a BSc. in Physics and Mathematics from Stony Brook University. His past research focused on identifying and characterizing intermittent structures (current sheets) in particle-in-cell simulations of magnetically dominated collisionless plasma turbulence. His current research focuses on studying the physics of the neutron star crust/interior using analytic theory and first principles molecular dynamics simulations. He is also working on studying the origin and mechanisms of the UV-Optical variability in AGN disks using multi-frequency radiation magnetohydrodynamic simulations.
