I am a graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am broadly interested in plasma dynamics near compact objects and their observational consequences. In my recent work, I developed a first-principles model to explain the pulsed radio emission from magnetars. This model successfully accounts for the observed high luminosities, wide pulse profiles, and broad frequency range of the emission. I have also worked on modeling the X-ray polarization of the Crab pulsar and on cosmic-ray transport. Currently, I am investigating the plasma processes responsible for generating radio waves and their subsequent propagation through the magnetar magnetosphere. In addition, I am studying the interaction between the magnetar atmosphere and plasma beams. I am excited about the opportunity to join SCEECS, which offers a unique environment to engage with the theoretical, numerical, and observational challenges in this field.
